Thiago Ancelmo 2023

Brazilian clarinetist, Thiago Ancelmo, has an active career as an educator, chamber musician, and
orchestral player. Awarded in more than ten competitions, including the prestigious “New
Talents of Brazilian Music”, he has performed in twelve countries in Europe, South America,
and North America, and more than twenty-two states in the US.

HeaneyJoshua Heaney is an award-winning saxophonist and music educator based in the greater area of Toledo, Ohio. A devoted educator, he has presented clinics and masterclasses throughout the USA and in 2019 was the winner of Wake County Public School System’s competitive 1st-year Teacher of the Year award. Currently, Joshua Heaney serves as Adjunct Professor at Heidelberg University, where he teaches saxophone, clarinet, chamber music, and performs with the faculty wind quintet. He also teaches saxophone technique, chamber music, and woodwind methods courses at Bowling Green State University.

Ben Chen photoClarinetist Ben Chen made his American solo debut at the Kennedy Center, the result of winning the National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute concerto competition. His performances since then have taken him across the United States, from Maine to Alaska, and internationally to China, Japan, and Canada.

Lorraine Duso KittsLorraine Duso Kitts is Professor at the University of Central Arkansas teaching double reeds and adjunct oboe instructor at Hendrix College. She plays Second Oboe with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as well as Principal Oboe with the Conway Symphony Orchestra.

Gail LevinskyA native of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Dr. Gail B. Levinsky is committed to the teaching and training young musicians. Presently serving on the faculty of Susquehanna University, her career began teaching saxophone in the Dallas (TX) area (Grades 6-12) and for the past 24 years in higher education.

MaryMatthewsA dynamic and versatile performer, Mary Matthews is flute professor at Florida State University’s College of Music. She enjoys an active career as an international soloist, chamber musician, orchestral flutist, session musician, author, and pedagogue, and she has performed on four continents in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Fundação Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina, Festival Goethe Institut Música Nueva, and Cité Internationale des Arts.

Michael McCarthyMichael McCarthy is a freelance choral conductor, adjudicator, clinician and accompanist in the New England/New York area. Choral groups under his direction have been invited to perform at MENC Eastern Division conferences and ACDA state conferences.  He has spent the last twenty-seven summers teaching at the New England Music Camp.

sarah schettlerSarah M. (Gill) Schettler plays Second Flute in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, teaches flute lessons at Tulane University and the University of New Orleans, and maintains a private studio where she teaches students from beginner through high school students.

George Stoffan has received Fulbright Awards to the Czech Republic and Hungary.  He was artist-in-residence at the Janáček Academy of Music in Brno, Czech Republic in 2012 and at the Liszt Academy of Music, in Budapest, in 2019. His articles about clarinet traditions in Hungary and in the Czech Republic have been featured in The Clarinet.
