Experience the magic of NEMC!

Orchestra, Band, Choral, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Chamber Music, Piano, Classical Guitar, and more!

New England Music Camp is located on a pristine 40-acre lakeside campus in Sidney, Maine. For over 80 years, students have been enriched by our unique program which emphasizes a balance of musical gains and personal and social growth. At NEMC, students design an individualized schedule of classes and recreation to meet their interests and personal needs. Our 1:4 professional faculty-to-student ratio gives campers many opportunities for daily coaching and side-by-side instruction. Every student receives two half-hour private lessons each week with the option to add more.  This summer is your time to join 180 students each session from across the country (and the world) and experience the “magic of NEMC”!

New England Music Camp cultivates an encouraging and safe community where all students excel musically and socially.

Michael McCarthyNew England Music Camp is thrilled to announce the appointment of Michael McCarthy to the position of Dean of Faculty. Michael has been on the faculty as a conductor and instructor for almost 30 years, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new, year-round position. He will work with Music Director Bill Tortolano and the camp administration to prepare and revise academic program plans, and develop strategies to achieve the goals and objectives of those programs. Additionally, he will assist in the articulation of policies and procedures of the music education programs at NEMC. Michael will work with Bill and the camp directors to maintain effective communication between the campers, faculty, and administration during the summer season. He will also continue to conduct the NEMC Chorale for one session each summer, and teach appropriate classes within the curriculum. Please join us in congratulating Michael as begins this new adventure at NEMC.

ericsabatinoWe are pleased to announce that NEMC will once again offer Harp Studies!  It has been approximately 30 years since we've offered harp.  After the famous Salzedo Harp Colony closed in nearby Camden, Maine, harp students have gravitated towards other summer institutes.  However, we have been receiving more and more inquiries over the past few years, so we have hired a wonderful musician and teacher, Eric Sabatino, to teach Second Session. (July 22 - Aug 12). Eric is a frequent clinician, adjudicator and first-call harpist in the DC metro area. Read more about Mr Sabatino HERE
