A planned gift is an wonderful way to honor the New England Music Camp's tradition of excellence while leaving a legacy that will improve the lives of future students.  We have created the 1937 Society to honor all planned gifts to the New England Music Camp.

The 1937 Society

The New England Music Camp has thrived on the shores of Lake Messalonskee for 85 years - since 1937.  In that time, thousands of young musicians from all over the world have gathered here to refine their practice and learn important life lessons.  Today, the New England Music Camp still welcomes campers each summer.  We take great pride in offering the same excellent summer music experience many NEMC alumni treasure, but, through the Snow Pond Center for the Arts, we have been able to expand our year-round programs to offer a full array of music, performing, and visual art instruction to people of all ages.

You can help preserve the great legacy of the New England Music Camp and help us build a bigger, brighter future by including the camp in your estate planning. We created the 1937 Society to recognize individuals who have made special gifts through their estate commitments. There is no minimum gift amount required- we are thankful for all estate gifts, whatever their size. Membership in the 1937 Society involves no dues or obligations of any kind, other than to notify us that you have included the organization in your estate plans.

When you make a planned gift, your generosity bridges the gap between the past and the future, creating a legacy that will continue to allow generations of campers to benefit from the magical NEMC experience and thousands of people of all ages to benefit from musical and other art instruction here on the shores of Snow Pond.
Create your legacy through any of the following planned gifts:

  • Charitable Bequest
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Retirement or Investment Account Beneficiary
  • Gift of Life Insurance or Beneficiary Designation
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Gift of Real Estate

If you are interested in learning more about any of these options, please contact Christa Johnson, Director of Development at  or by calling 207-465-9648 ext. 203.

If you have already included the New England Music Center in your estate plans, please let us know by contacting us or completing this form (confirmation form link). We would be delighted to welcome you into The 1937 Society!
