Snow Pond Center for the Arts Announces

Artistic Director of Summer Music Festival, Simón Gollo

Snow Pond Center for the Arts and New England Music Camp are thrilled to announce the appointment of Simón Gollo as Artistic Director of the Summer Music Festival.

Mr. Gollo is currently conductor of the philharmonic orchestra at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, whereSimon Gollo Foto Casual he is also a tenured professor of violin and orchestra conducting.  He was instrumental in developing the Las Cruces Youth Orchestra and Choirs, following the philosophy of the El Sistema artistic program. He continues to have an active career as both conductor and performer with orchestras and festivals around the world.

In his role as artistic director, Mr. Gollo will work with the various program leaders to further develop the brand and vision of our many summer programs. He will be in residence at Snow Pond for the summer season, and will also act in a consulting role to the year-round performance events and community arts programs.

Mr. Gollo is a native of Venezuela, where he continues to visit and uplift his community through music. His extensive work as a teacher, administrator, and artist in varied cultural and social settings will allow him to bring a creative passion to the Snow Pond community.
