Founded in 1937, New England Music Camp is a summer camp for music students ages 11–18, located on 200 acres in Sidney, Maine, on the eastern shore of Messalonskee Lake in the Belgrade Lakes region. It follows a balanced structure of musical training (in the morning) and standard recreational activities (in the afternoon) such as sailing, kayaking, archery, tennis,
softball, soccer, volleyball, badminton etc. There are numerous concerts offered free to the public during its four-week season on site at the Bowl-in-the-Pines or Alumni Hall (respectively, the camp's outdoor and indoor performance venues).

New England Music Camp is committed in policy, principle, and practice to maintaining an environment which prohibits discriminatory behavior and provides equal opportunity for all persons. NEMC affirms its commitment to provide a welcoming and respectful work and educational environment, in which all individuals within the camp community may benefit from each other’s experiences and foster mutual respect and appreciation of divergent views. We are especially interested in applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups as we seek to serve our increasingly diverse and inclusive campus.

NEMC Diversity Statement:

Our goal at NEMC has always been and will always be to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming environment for all students in which to grow both musically and socially. We stand together in support of all of our students, faculty, staff and community who have ever felt underrepresented or unheard. NEMC is committed to continuing to create a community built on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

NEMC commits to:

- Hiring faculty and staff from traditionally underrepresented groups as we seek to serve our increasingly diverse and inclusive campus.

- Building a more inclusive camp family and community. When our campus is diverse, the camp experience is diverse

- Educate our faculty, staff, and campers on systemic racism

- Listen to the people of color in our community and seek ways that NEMC can learn and grow from their vision and support
