Welcome Ballroom Dancers!
Located on the shores of Messalonskee Lake, Snow Pond Center for the Arts, is your dancing retreat for the weekend. The magnificent 40 acre campus is just 60 minutes from Portland, ME. The modern cabins are nestled among the tall pines and along the shore line. In addition to dancing, you'll have opportunities to wander the forest paths, take a kayak out to view the foliage or breathe in the crisp fall air from one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the United States. Meals are prepared by a culinary team and served in the lodge overlooking the lake. Ballroom workshops and parties will be held in Alumni Hall, a large open space with 2,400 square feet of hardwood floor and a state of the art sound system. Although there is a campus wide internet, we hope you will disconnect from the outside world, embrace the call of loons, conversation with new friends and the beauty of dance.
Your hosts for the weekend are Mark Ostermann and Laurie Rosa, an enthusiastic ballroom couple. Your professional instructors are Kim Lennon and Ezikiel Sublett from Krystal Ballroom. Kim and Ezikiel will be available for private lessons and also dancing the night away with you at the Friday and Saturday social parties. For more information on scheduling a private lesson, please see the weekend schedule.
We are excited to host you this year and we hope that your experience here at Snow Pond is one to remember.
