Welcome Ballroom Dancers!
Located on the shores of Messalonskee Lake, Snow Pond Center for the Arts, is your dancing retreat for the weekend. The magnificent 40 acre campus is just 60 minutes from Portland, ME. The modern cabins are nestled among the tall pines and along the shore line. In addition to dancing, you'll have opportunities to wander the forest paths, take a kayak out to view the foliage or breathe in the crisp fall air from one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the United States. Meals are prepared by a culinary team and served in the lodge overlooking the lake. Ballroom workshops and parties will be held in Alumni Hall, a large open space with 2,400 square feet of hardwood floor and a state of the art sound system. Although there is a campus wide internet, we hope you will disconnect from the outside world, embrace the call of loons, conversation with new friends and the beauty of dance.
This weekend is for experienced ballroom dancers with a solid Bronze Level II foundation. You can register as a couple or sign up as a single with a partner. The workshops will require a partnership (1 Lead and 1 Follow). The Friday and Saturday dances will have a social aspect and include mixers.
Your hosts for the weekend are Mark Ostermann and Laurie Rosa, an enthusiastic ballroom couple. Your professional instructors are Louise Cote along with Sam and Marjorie Bartlett.
