Vocal and Instrumental Teaching Faculty Positions

We are seeking talented, experienced, enthusiastic instructors for our vocal and instrumental teaching faculty. Instructors will be an integral part of Snow Pond Community Arts and its mission to offer high-quality arts education to all students in the central Maine community.

Voice Instructor – Teach weekly individual lessons to students of all ages during the 32-week academic year. Help organize and conduct youth choirs. Participate in student and faculty recitals.

Guitar Instructor - Teach weekly individual lessons to students of all ages during the 32-week academic year.

Outreach Program Instructors – Teach weekly group classes to students in our outreach partner locations in Waterville and Augusta. Group classes may be general, vocal, or instrumental in nature, and tailored to the instructor’s talents.

Qualifications:·

  • Experience teaching individual lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.
  • A Music Degree in Performance or Education preferred.
  • Commitment to teaching in a style that promotes successful learning for all students.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as a desire to collaborate with faculty colleagues and staff to help develop a whole-school community in its early years.
  • Passion for music and high-level of proficiency in instrumental or vocal music.
  • Passion for and commitment to progressive education and educational equity.
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of every student in a diverse population.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
