Eric Sabatino currently plays Principal Harp with the National Symphony Orchestra (sub), Washington Choral Arts Society, Richmond Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, New World Orchestra, Washington Concert Opera, Alexandria Symphony, and has recently collaborated on two jazz recordings.
He is a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music and is currently pursuing his Masters degree. For over 21 years, he served in the United States Air Force Band performing for presidents, heads of state and entertaining troops and civilians in diplomatic missions throughout the world. Before joining the Air Force, he was principal harpist with the orchestras of the Empire State Opera, Amato Opera Company and the Island Lyric Opera of New York City. He has appeared as harpist with the Winston-Salem, Columbia and Atlanta Symphonies, as well as the Pablo Cassals Festival in Puerto Rico. He has performed with the prestigious Diaghilev Season Concerts in St. Petersburg, Russia—a highlight of which was his appearance as soloist with the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra. In addition to clinics and master classes with such renowned artists as Alice Chalifoux, Eric Sabatino has studied with Dulcie Barlow, Susanna Mildonian, Lucille Lawrence and Sarah Bullen. Eric has fond memories of spending two summers in Camden, Maine as a young harp student at the Salzedo Harp Colony.
