Performance-based merit scholarships are awarded to exceptional musicians, based upon proven musical ability, dedication to the musical craft, and the potential for improving the overall experience for all campers. Individuals may win different scholarships in consecutive years but may not be awarded the same scholarship in consecutive years. Please read the instructions for each scholarship very carefully as the requirements vary.
Merit Scholarship Applications will be announced on January 1, 2020. The deadline for all applications is March 1, 2020.
NEMC Second-Century Scholarship: 1-10 winners. $1000-$10,000 scholarship for new or returning students.
Jerry and Irene Green Scholarship: One winner. $4800, single-session (3-week), full-tuition scholarship for a new or returning student. An applicant cannot win in two consecutive years.
Bill and Dorothy Schmearer Scholarship for Jazz Studies: One winner. $4800, Single-session (3-week), full-tuition scholarship for a new or returning student aged 14 and up.
Leon and Linda Gregorian Merit Scholarship for Violin or Viola: One winner. $1000 scholarship for a new violin or viola student.
Damon Holton Classical Guitar Scholarship: One winner. Full-season (6-week), full-tuition scholarship for a new or returning classical guitar student.
Mae M. Sullivan Scholarship for Musical Theater: One Winner. $1000 scholarship for a new or returning student. An applicant can only win once.
Mary M. Collins Scholarship for Voice and Musical Theater: Multiple winners. $1000-$5000 scholarship for new or returning students. An applicant can only win once.
