Eileen Ringel is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) in piano. She opened her home studio, Kennebec Piano Studio, in 2008, where she now instructs over 20 students a year in piano practice, performance, technique, theory, and music history. Once a week, she teaches children at the Kennebec Montessori School in Fairfield. Eileen teaches students from beginners through early advanced.
She has a special interest in intermediate students, one of whom won first place at the statewide 2017 Pine Tree Piano Festival. A lifelong learner, Eileen continues to study piano with her teacher and mentor, Yuri Lily Funahashi, assistant professor of music at Colby College. She has also studied with Diane Walsh, Yukiko Sekino, Cheryl Tschanz, and Patricia Helm. Eileen is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, a longtime officer and board member of the Maine Music Teachers Association, and a member and past president of the Central Maine Music Teachers Association. Before starting her second career in music, Eileen practiced medicine in Waterville. She also holds a master’s degree in Religion.
