The 2020 Kayak Bass Fishing SuperTRAIL Northeast Regional Championships was the Catch of the Day!
Along the shores of Messalonskee Lake (Snow Pond) in Sidney, Maine, Snow Pond Center for the Arts recently hosted some of the best kayak anglers in the northeast. The tournament took place on September 12 and 13. Fishermen as far away as Indiana, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York (and the New England states) qualified and made the trek to Maine to compete.
To participate, all anglers needed to follow Maine’s CDC guidelines including testing prior to arrival and compliance with social distancing and mask requirements while on the Snow Pond campus.
Ken Wood from Brocton, Massachusetts won the tournament with 92.50 inches on day one and 89.75 on day two - good luck in Alabama Ken! We will all be rooting for you!
Snow Pond Center for the Arts would like to thank Mike Guarino, Director of Community Relations and Maine’s founder of Maine Wilderness Guide Service, the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, the Kennebec Valley Tourism Council, and the Maine Sports Commission for their support and assistance in bringing this amazing event to our great region!
to everyone who spent time with us this summer!

Community Music School
Teaching Artist, Christine Little, leads KVYMCA children in Snow Pond's "Arts as Academic Support" class, where music and creative movement are explored as vehicles for supporting skill acquisition in math and language arts. Here, children explore terms and concepts related to measurements by learning about musical tempo and pitch intervals using the movement of the parachute and the distance of their personal "wingspan".
