NEMC Associate Director and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator - Part Time

The New England Music Camp (NEMC) is seeking an experienced educator and leader to join the administrative team as Associate Camp Director and DEI Coordinator to begin Spring 2022.

The candidate will work closely with the Camp Directors, Head Counselors, and lead administrators to implement and further develop the camp’s access and inclusivity. Additional responsibilities include assistance and input in staff hiring and management, programming, and oversight of NEMC’s mission to be a warm, safe and welcoming environment for all campers. The position is year-round and part-time; much of the programming can be done remotely throughout the year, though full-time residency in Sidney, Maine is required during the camp, which typically takes place from mid June to mid August.  Resumés and indications of interest are due by December 1, 2021. Snow Pond Center for the Arts is home to the prestigious New England Music Camp, the Snow Pond Music Festival, and the New England Adult Music Camp. Founded in 1937, the New England Music Camp Association has welcomed young musicians from across the country and around the world, sharing the joy of making music in the beautiful Maine Belgrade Lakes region. The camp programs include a traditional summer camp program for campers ages 11-18, intensive programs for high school students in chamber music, jazz studies, composition, and musical theater college preparation, chamber music, and a Prelude camp for string players ages 8-13.There is professional staff of music educators who facilitate the music portion of the programs, and university-aged counselors who live in the cabins with the campers in their cabins and manage the recreational and social activities.
