A fully funded Songwriting Intensive. This 8-day songwriting Intensive focuses on providing 10 young artists a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of contemporary and musical theater songwriting from top industry professionals to further the skills and tools needed to pursue a professional career as songwriters.

 

Where is it?  

Snow Pond Center for the Arts, on an idyllic lake in Sidney, Maine .

When is it?

The camp runs from June 12-19, 2024 (with travel days on June 11th and 20th)

 

Who is it for? 

Serving songwriters ages 18-25 (must turn 18 prior to first day of intensive).

 

What is provided?

Free tuition, lodging, all meals, transportation to and from the Maine airport, and up to $500 in travel receipts.

 

What can I expect from this experience?

This 8-day songwriting Intensive focuses on the fundamentals of contemporary and musical theater songwriting through aJMFSWI2 series of tutorials, master classes, workshops and collaborative writing exercises. The curriculum will also cover the fundamentals of music production including covering the basics of the DAW (Digital Audio Workplace) as well as the fundamentals of musical arrangement. In addition, students will have time to enjoy activities on the lake like swimming, kayaking, canoeing, campfires and more!

 

What do I need to submit?

Submit a link to 2 audio song samples and lyric sheets in any genre (i.e. Pop, Rock, R&B, HipHop, Country, Musical Theatre, Folk, Jazz, etc.) Submissions October 15, 2023 to February 1, 2024 - HERE.

To sign up there are two steps required:

STEP ONE- Weekend Registration as a Single Follower or as Single Lead or as a Couple (1 Lead and 1 Follower) 

                    Process a payment for Weekend Registration

Weekend Registration (Couples, Leader, Follower) 

STEP TWO - Make your Lodging and Food Preferences choices:

            Choose a cabin,  1,2 or 3 Bedrooms  or  Dorm room

             Record your names, Friday meal choice, and Saturday meal choice

             Process a payment for your Lodging and and Preferences

Lodging Reservations and Meal Preferences 

Note : A couple may choose to each have their own cabin or dorm room by themselves by each processing Lodging Food Preference with separate payments. 

We are encouraging  singles to sign up as couples so that we have "social parity at dances" but to have the flexibility that they don't have to share housing. Also The dance pros have been hired to be dance host to increase the opportunity for single followers to get more dances.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made 30 days or more before the scheduled arrival will receive a full refund of the payment, less processing fees.
(On or before September 04, 2024)
Cancellations made 29 days to 4 days before scheduled arrival will receive a 50% refund of the payment, less processing fees. 
(From September 05 to September 30, 2024)
Cancellations made within 3 days of the arrival will receive no refund of the payment. There are no refunds for early departure.
(After October 1, 2024)
Cancellations made on the day of arrival or no shows will be charged the full amount of the scheduled stay.

Sponsors receive a limited number of complimentary tickets to a Snow Pond Summer Series Concert and may also elect to host a private reception at Snow Pond Center for the Arts, prior to or after a performance.
