brighamAmerican horn player and educator Christopher Brigham is currently living in Cologne, Germany, with an active freelance career and private teaching studio. Christopher obtained his bachelor’s degree in Horn Performance from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford in 2013 under David Wakefield and master’s degree in Solo Performance at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen with Frank Lloyd until 2017.

He went on to study Orchestral Performance with Norbert Stertz and Jan Golebiowski at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold and completed his degree in 2021.

He has performed in a variety of world-renowned concert halls in Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA. He enjoys an eclectic career of chamber music and orchestral playing around Europe with such groups as Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, Duisburger Philharmoniker, Bergische Symphoniker, Theater Dortmund, Moers Jazz Festival and Cologne Chamber Orchestra, among others. He also continues to perform operas/operettas/musicals as a member of Kammeroper Köln (including a three week run of the musical “The Physician” in Deutsches Theater in Munich). He can be heard playing on CDs with the Lake Brass Horn Ensemble, Jonas Kaufmann’s  It’s Christmas and the WDR Radio Choir of Cologne.  Christoper is an active teacher at the Sauerländer Horn Weekend in Bad Fredeburg. In the summer of 2022 he gave presentations on his research of the horn players of Auschwitz at the International Horn Society conference, as well as conducting the amateur horn choir. In his free time, Christopher enjoys cooking, baking, spending time with friends and traveling the world.
